South Alabama Faces Arkansas-Monticello in Season Finale as Boll Weevils Get QB Scott Buisson Back

South Alabama ends its 2010 season against Arkansas-Monticello, which has senior quarterback Scott Buisson back from a hand injury.

South Alabama closes its 2010 football season against Arkansas-Monticello, and the Jaguars will see the Boll Weevils at full strength at quarterback with senior starter Scott Buisson back in the lineup.

Buisson injured his throwing hand in late September. He returned to lead Arkansas-Monticello past West Georgia, a win that gave the Boll Weevils their first home victory of the season and snapped a three-game losing streak.

Arkansas-Monticello by the Numbers

Arkansas-Monticello is averaging 23.4 points per game while allowing 28.6. The Boll Weevils have picked up 105 first downs and allowed 137.

Three Boll Weevils have topped 100 rushing yards. Nakita Myles leads the ground game with 405 yards and 6 touchdowns, including a 98-yard run. Johnny Polite has 192 yards and 3 touchdowns, and Buisson is third.

Five receivers have more than 100 yards. Jywin Ceasar leads with 26 catches for 321 yards and 4 touchdowns, and DJ Stephens has 13 receptions for 302 yards and a touchdown. Two other receivers have 11 catches apiece.

The game is South Alabama’s last of the 2010 season, the program’s second year of competition under head coach Joey Jones.
