MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama football has extended scholarship offers to three prospects in recent days: Theodore High School tight end Jerry Gibson, Niceville, Fla., wide receiver Tyre McCants and Dunnellon, Fla., defensive tackle Keiwan Jones.
Jerry Gibson, Tight End, Theodore
Gibson, a local prospect from Theodore High School in Mobile County, is listed at 6-foot-3 and 213 pounds and has a reported 40-yard dash time of 4.83 seconds. In addition to South Alabama, he holds offers from Arkansas State and Furman.
Tyre McCants, Wide Receiver, Niceville, Fla.
McCants is listed at 5-foot-10 and 184 pounds and is rated a three-star wide receiver by 247Sports. Rivals lists him with a 4.45-second 40-yard dash, a 490-pound squat and a 39-inch vertical leap. His other offers include Florida Atlantic, Georgia Tech, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisville and Old Dominion.
Keiwan Jones, Defensive Tackle, Dunnellon, Fla.
Jones is listed at 6-foot-2 and 265 pounds and carries a two-star rating from 247Sports. He is listed with a 30-inch vertical and a 330-pound bench press. Last season he recorded 36 tackles, eight sacks, three forced fumbles, a blocked pass, a touchdown and a safety. He also holds offers from Old Dominion and Western Michigan.
