South Alabama Softball Slips to No. 21, Hosts Troy in Senior Day Doubleheader

South Alabama softball fell one spot to No. 21 in both polls ahead of Saturday's Senior Day doubleheader against Troy at Jaguar Field.

MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama softball dropped one spot to No. 21 in both national polls this week as the Jaguars prepare to close the regular season with a Senior Day doubleheader against Troy on Saturday at Jaguar Field.

Polls

The Jaguars are ranked 21st in the USA Today/NFCA Top 25 and the ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25. Auburn moved past South Alabama into the No. 20 spot in both polls.

Alabama (42-9) remains the highest-ranked team in the state at No. 5 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll and No. 6 in the USA Today/NFCA poll.

Senior Day

South Alabama and Troy will play at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday. The program will honor seniors Julie Moss and Hannah Campbell before their final regular-season home games, and fans are encouraged to wear red.

Postseason Seeding Set

South Alabama swept Western Kentucky last weekend, a result that secured the No. 2 seed for the Sun Belt Conference Championship regardless of the outcome against Troy.

The Jaguars won the Sun Belt Tournament title in 2012 and 2013 and will be seeking a third straight championship.
