MOBILE, Ala. — Three members of the South Alabama women’s golf team — Ashleigh Ryals, Ingrid Hagen and Jordan Knight — have been named Women’s Golf Coaches Association Division I All-American Scholars for the 2013-14 academic year.
Qualifying for the Honor
To earn WGCA All-American Scholar recognition, a golfer must carry a minimum grade-point average of 3.50 and compete in at least half of her team’s events during the season.
Ryals was a senior this past season, Hagen a junior and Knight a redshirt sophomore.
Repeat Honorees
Ryals and Hagen each earned the award for the third consecutive season. It is the first time Knight has received the honor.
A Program Tradition
This is the ninth consecutive academic year that South Alabama has placed at least three student-athletes on the WGCA Division I All-American Scholar team.
Since the 2005-06 academic year, 13 different Jaguar women’s golfers have been honored a combined 36 times as WGCA All-American Scholars.
The Jaguars compete in the Sun Belt Conference.
