MOBILE, Ala. — The Sun Belt Conference will hold its 2014 football media day on Tuesday, July 22, at the Bienville Club Lounge inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, and the league will introduce a new feature that lets fans submit questions directly to coaches and players.
The 2014 Sun Belt media day will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Each of the conference’s 11 football-playing schools, including South Alabama, will bring its head coach and two student-athletes.
State of the Conference
Sun Belt Commissioner Karl Benson will deliver his State of the Sun Belt Conference address at 3 p.m. Afterward, Benson will be available to reporters along with Coordinator of Officials Steve Shaw, College Football Playoff chief financial officer Reid Sigmon and the conference’s athletic directors.
ESPN3 Coverage
ESPN3 will carry a two-hour live show from the media day floor beginning at 1 p.m. The broadcast will include interviews with coaches and student-athletes from each participating school.
Sun Belt Social Suite
The conference will debut the “Sun Belt Social Suite,” which will feature fan-submitted questions in one-on-one interviews with coaches and student-athletes. Fans can send questions through Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #SunBeltMediaDay, and the interviews will be streamed live on SunBeltSports.org.
The Social Suite will hold a morning session from 10 a.m. to noon and an afternoon session from 1 to 3 p.m. Danielle Percival, a former Trojan TV sports reporter, will host.
