Members of the Thomasville High School Class of 1966 gathered July 23 at the Thomasville Civic Center to celebrate their 60-year class reunion, an evening filled with food, fellowship and music.
A special display became a popular backdrop for photos: Amy Prescott brought her recently acquired 1951 Ford custom convertible, giving classmates the chance to take commemorative photos with a vintage vehicle similar to ones some may have driven in their younger years.
Organizers also recognized a group of local young people who volunteered throughout the evening to help make the reunion a success. Postgraduate volunteers Coleman Anderson and Walt Anderson transported attendees from the parking area to the Civic Center by golf cart. Thomasville High School cheerleaders Abigail Nordon, Avery Collinsworth and Blair Paul assisted with serving food and cleaning up afterward. Members of the Thomasville High School football team — Linus Abrams, Eric Milsap, Idrian Moore, Antoine Pitts, Guwan Tate, C.J. Welch and Brayden Williams — helped move musical equipment and other heavy items before and after the event.
