A man is recovering in an intensive care unit after he was stabbed multiple times during a dispute at a Daphne home, and police are searching for the man they say walked away from the scene on foot.
The Daphne Police Department said officers were called to an address on Adams Avenue just after midnight on Wednesday, July 29, after reports of a disturbance between two men. Officers arrived at about 12:30 a.m. and found a man who had been stabbed repeatedly.
A Dispute That Turned Violent
Investigators believe the stabbing grew out of a dispute between two men who knew each other, according to a department press release. The victim, whose name has not been released, was rushed to University Hospital for emergency treatment. He remained in the intensive care unit, and police said his condition was not immediately known.
Under Alabama law, first-degree assault — the charge now sought in the case — applies when a person causes serious physical injury to another by means of a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument. The felony carries a potential prison sentence measured in years rather than months, and prosecutors can add counts as the investigation develops.

Daphne police identified the suspect as Robert Marion of Daphne. Detectives allege he fled the scene on foot after the stabbing, and his whereabouts remained unknown as of the department’s most recent public statement. A warrant has been issued for his arrest on a first-degree assault charge.
The department stressed that the investigation is ongoing and that additional charges are possible once detectives finish interviewing witnesses and reviewing evidence from the Adams Avenue scene.
