Mobile diners with busy schedules have a new option: Applebee’s Express, a speed-focused version of the familiar neighborhood grill, now open in west Mobile.
The new format is located inside the Shoppes of Westgate at 7450 Airport Boulevard. According to the company, Applebee’s Express is designed for guests who want the chain’s menu without the sit-down wait, blending full-service quality with fast-casual convenience.
Rick Houser, a vice president at Applebee’s, said the team was glad to return to the Mobile market with the new concept.
“We’re excited to bring Applebee’s back to the Mobile neighborhood, and to offer the community the chance to enjoy our great quality and fresh food with the speed and convenience of a fast-casual restaurant,” Houser said.
The Airport Boulevard location sits in one of west Mobile’s busiest retail corridors, an area lined with shopping centers and restaurants between I-65 and the city’s western suburbs. Company officials described the restaurant as a first-of-its-kind format developed with the local franchise team, and it adds to the growing list of national chains operating along the Airport Boulevard commercial strip.
