MOBILE, Ala. — Battleship Memorial Park is seeking the next group of USS Alabama Crewmates, with applications opening Monday, Jan. 24.
The contest is open to young women ages 19 to 21 who live in Mobile or Baldwin County during their term. Applications are due Friday, Feb. 18 at 4 p.m., and six women will be selected. The Crewmates represent Battleship Memorial Park and the State of Alabama at events across the state.
The 2022-23 Miss USS Alabama will receive a $3,000 scholarship, Miss USS Drum a $2,500 scholarship, and the remaining Crewmates $2,000 each. There is no entry fee or sponsorship required, and uniforms and travel for official events are provided by the USS Alabama Battleship Commission.
