Comedy Whatever returned to Alchemy Tavern in downtown Mobile for a round of stand-up captured on video. The bill featured Joe Paige and Kid Cash of Mobile, Brittany Purvis of Hattiesburg, Timothy Huff and Olga Boingo of Pensacola, Tommy Rustin of Gulfport, and host William Masters, a Mobile comedian who billed himself as the “future Mayor of Mobile.”

The night was part of a growing string of comedy rooms and open mics working to plant live comedy alongside Mobile’s visual and music scenes. (The performances contained strong language.)

Promoters framed the showcase as one more sign that stand-up was finding steady footing in a city better known for its bands and bars.
