From ‘Dookie’ to ‘Revolution Radio’
Green Day rode the early-’90s wave that carried underground punk into the mainstream. While longtime fans point to “Kerplunk” as the band’s true coming-out, it was 1994’s “Dookie” that put the trio on the charts with era-defining hits like “Longview,” “Welcome to Paradise” and “Basket Case.” Three decades in, the Bay Area band remains one of pop punk’s most reliable live acts.
The Orange Beach stop finds the band touring behind its latest album, “Revolution Radio” — a record that opens gently before settling into the adrenalized, power-chord anthems that have defined the band’s sound.
Catfish and the Bottlemen warm things up
British outfit Catfish and the Bottlemen handle opening duties, bringing clean, hook-forward indie rock built for big rooms. The group will draw heavily from its album “The Ride,” which topped charts on both sides of the Atlantic.
It is a marquee double-bill for the Alabama Gulf Coast venue, which has increasingly drawn national touring acts to the waterfront amphitheater. Tickets are available now through Ticketmaster.
