The David L. Bodenhamer Recreation Center in Gulf Shores will host a membership drive and open house on Saturday, Aug. 29, from 8 a.m. to noon, giving residents a free look at the facility’s programs, fitness classes and amenities.

The event is designed for both current members and residents who are simply curious about what the recreation center has to offer. Visitors will be able to tour the facility, meet staff and certified personal trainers, and take part in a morning of free fitness demonstrations.

Event Highlights

New guests will receive free admission to the recreation center for the day, along with a free goodie bag while supplies last. Guests can also enter a raffle for a chance to win a gift basket of official Gulf Shores merchandise. Kona Ice will be on site offering free shaved ice, and the Beachin’ Eats food truck will be available for those who want to purchase food.

Fitness Class Showcase

Throughout the morning, the center will offer a rotating schedule of free demonstration classes for visitors to try:

8:15 a.m. — Cardio, Dance Fitness, Zumba
9:15 a.m. — Shine, POP Motion, Cardio Dance Fitness
10:30 a.m. — Core
10:45 a.m. — Barre
11:15 a.m. — HIIT
