More than 60 juried artists from across the Southeast will bring their work to downtown Mobile later this month for the third annual Loyola Art Show.
The event is scheduled for Aug. 20-22 at Crown Hall, 853 Dauphin St. Organizers describe the show as an elevated art shopping experience, showcasing both two-dimensional and three-dimensional pieces from a juried lineup of regional artists.
This year’s featured artist is Brandon Finnorn, a painter based in Madisonville, Louisiana. Finnorn grew up along the Gulf Coast, where he spent time exploring area waterways and studying local ecosystems, including in Mobile Bay and around Dauphin Island.
The show opens Aug. 20 with a ticketed Collectors Preview and Friends of Loyola party. The event is then free and open to the public on Aug. 21, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Aug. 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Organizers say the show gives Mobile-area art lovers the chance to browse and purchase original work directly from artists over the three-day run at Crown Hall.
