Singer Maggie Koerner returns to Mobile with her own band for a St. Practice Day show on Friday, Sept. 19, at O’Dalys Irish Pub on Dauphin Street.

A Louisiana voice comes back to the Gulf Coast

Koerner shares the bill with New Orleans rock band The Revivalists in a celebration marking the halfway point to St. Patrick’s Day. Doors open at 5 p.m. and music begins at 8 p.m., with tickets starting at $15 and $1 green beers available.

Mobile audiences may know Koerner as the lead singer of jazz-fusion band Galactic, whose last Azalea City appearance featured her on classics like James Brown’s “It’s a Man’s World” and the Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back.” The Revivalists were recently voted New Orleans’ number one rock band.

New solo material

Koerner’s solo album, Neutral Ground, is currently available. “I’m very excited about coming back to Mobile with my own band,” she said. “The Gulf Coast has been very good to me over the past few years and it’s fun to see the crowds get bigger and bigger at each show.”

The performance offers Mobile fans a chance to hear her soaring register and blues-inspired delivery in an intimate Dauphin Street setting.
