Mobile car chase leads to 1 juvenile detained, 2 sought, police say

According to an MPD news release, officers attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation Friday, Aug. 21, but the driver refused to stop. The vehicle finally came to a stop on Cedar Street where two juveniles got out and ran. A third juvenile was detained at the scene and taken to Strickland Youth Center after a firearm was found in the car.

Strickland Youth Center is Mobile County’s juvenile detention facility, located with the county’s juvenile court. In Alabama, criminal cases involving people under 18 generally go through juvenile court, and the names of juveniles who are charged are typically not released.
