A countywide anti-bullying effort is getting a family-friendly sendoff Saturday.
The Mobile County Coalition Against Bullying has a slate of activities planned from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the West Regional Library in Mobile, kicking off Bullying Prevention Week.
The free event mixes fun and practical help: arts and crafts activities for children, face painting, a Child ID program, and several local authors on hand to meet families and sign their books about bullying.
Organizers hope the kickoff gives parents and kids both tools and conversation starters heading into a school year where bullying remains a persistent worry for many families across the county.
