With graduation less than a month away, high school seniors across Mobile County are getting an early look at the jobs waiting for them close to home.
Dozens of local businesses, industries, and military organizations gathered for a career fair aimed squarely at MCPSS seniors, showcasing career paths available in the Mobile area. Every senior in the district was invited to attend.
A Path Other Than a Four-Year Degree
Organizers said the goal is to help students realize they can build successful, well-paying careers in Mobile even if they don’t head straight to a four-year university — whether through a two-year college, an apprenticeship, or another training program.
Larry Mouton, assistant superintendent for the district’s Division of Workforce Development, said the point is making sure those opportunities exist locally so students can make well-informed decisions about life after graduation.
The event marked the second year the career fair has been held.
