MOBILE, Ala. — A Mobile man was arrested and charged with burglary after he allegedly broke into a fast-food restaurant early Saturday morning and was found on the property with stolen food, according to the Mobile Police Department.
Officers responded to the Kentucky Fried Chicken at 2850 Springhill Avenue just after 2:15 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, after receiving a report of a burglary in progress, MPD said in a news release.
When officers arrived, they found a glass door at the restaurant had been broken. A man was still on the property, and officers said he had food from the location in his possession.
Walter Pleasant, 49, was arrested at the scene and charged with third-degree burglary, a felony under Alabama law that applies to unlawfully entering a building with the intent to commit a crime inside. He was booked into Mobile Metro Jail following his arrest.
MPD did not release additional details about the incident. The case remains under investigation.
