MOBILE, Ala. — A Mobile man is facing a felony charge after police say he broke into a parked vehicle early Thursday morning and took money from inside.
According to a Mobile Police Department news release, officers were called to the 1200 block of Skywood Drive around 3:30 a.m. Thursday, July 23, after receiving a report of a man breaking into a car.
When officers arrived, they determined that someone had broken into a vehicle parked in the area and taken money from inside. Investigators worked the case and were able to identify and locate a suspect.
Seth Sanders, 32, was arrested and charged with unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle, an Alabama felony offense that covers unauthorized entry into someone else’s car with intent to commit theft or another crime inside. He was booked into Mobile Metro Jail following his arrest.
Vehicle break-ins are among the most frequently reported property crimes in Mobile, and law enforcement agencies across the region routinely encourage residents to lock their vehicles, remove valuables and avoid leaving cash or electronics visible inside cars overnight. Skywood Drive sits in a residential section of west Mobile.
