The genre-bending group Super Bob was set to perform at Alchemy Tavern on May 12 at 9 p.m., joined by openers Pick Your Poison and Strongfold. The band fuses dubstep, metal, hip-hop, and hard rock into a sound all its own.
A critically noticed 2015
Super Bob’s 2015 release “Killer” drew attention from music critics, but the group maintains that the truest way to feel its intensity is in a live room. Locals turning out at Alchemy Tavern could also feel good about supporting an independent business in their own city.
For fans of heavy, boundary-crossing live music, the mid-May show offered a chance to see a band that refuses easy categorization – and to do it at one of downtown Mobile’s cornerstone venues.
