MOBILE, Ala. — Four South Alabama pitchers combined on a shutout Tuesday evening as South Alabama baseball beat Southeastern Louisiana 9-0 at Eddie Stanky Field.
Starter Traylor allowed four hits over six innings, striking out four and walking two, to earn his fifth win of the season. Hunter Soleymani, Dylan Stamey and Kyle Bartch finished the game, allowing one hit and combining for five strikeouts.
Early Lead
The Jaguars scored twice in the bottom of the first inning. In the second, they loaded the bases and Jeff Deblieux drew a walk to force in a run for a 3-0 lead, and a sacrifice fly made it 4-0.
Robby Campbell doubled to left-center field in the third inning to drive in Nolan Earley and push the lead to 5-0.
Southeastern Louisiana loaded the bases in the top of the fifth, but Traylor got a groundout to second base to end the inning.
Adding On
Cole Billingsley delivered a two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the sixth for a 7-0 lead. Jordan Patterson added a two-out RBI double in the seventh, and pinch hitter Cole Jarman singled to center with the bases loaded in the eighth to account for the final run.
The win came after South Alabama moved up to No. 23 in this week’s Collegiate Baseball poll.
