South Alabama Football ESPN Game Times Announced; Season Opener to Stream on ESPN3

The Sun Belt set kickoff times for South Alabama's ESPN2 and ESPNU games against Arkansas State and Louisiana-Lafayette, and the opener will air on ESPN3.

MOBILE, Ala. — The Sun Belt Conference announced Monday the kickoff times for South Alabama’s two 2015 football games on the ESPN family of networks, along with the news that the Jaguars’ season opener will be streamed on ESPN3.

ESPN Game Times

South Alabama’s game against Arkansas State on Tuesday, Oct. 13, will be televised nationally on ESPN2 with a 7 p.m. CDT kickoff.

The Jaguars’ game against Louisiana-Lafayette on Thursday, Nov. 12, will kick off at 6:30 p.m. on ESPNU.

Opener on ESPN3

South Alabama opens the season Saturday, Sept. 5, against Gardner-Webb at Ladd-Peebles Stadium. The game will be carried on ESPN3, with the kickoff time still to be set.

Nebraska on Big Ten Network

As announced earlier, South Alabama’s road game at Nebraska on Sept. 12 will kick off at 7 p.m. and air on the Big Ten Network.

Kickoff times for the rest of the Jaguars’ schedule will be announced later.

  • Sept. 5: Gardner-Webb at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, ESPN3, time TBA
  • Sept. 12: at Nebraska, 7 p.m., Big Ten Network
  • Oct. 13: Arkansas State, 7 p.m. CDT, ESPN2
  • Nov. 12: Louisiana-Lafayette, 6:30 p.m., ESPNU

Season Outlook

The 2015 season is South Alabama’s seventh since the program began play in 2009, all under head coach Joey Jones. The Jaguars compete in the Sun Belt Conference, and both of their ESPN national television appearances are against league opponents.

Gardner-Webb, the opening opponent, is a Football Championship Subdivision program from Boiling Springs, N.C. The Nebraska game sends the Jaguars to Lincoln to face a Big Ten opponent the week after the opener.
