South Alabama to Host Third Annual JagPower Strength and Conditioning Coaches’ Clinic May 21

South Alabama's strength and conditioning staff will host the third annual JagPower Coaches' Clinic on May 21 at the football fieldhouse, with speakers from Florida State and Iowa State.

MOBILE, Ala. — The University of South Alabama strength and conditioning staff will host the third annual JagPower Strength and Conditioning Coaches’ Clinic on Saturday, May 21, at the South Alabama football fieldhouse.

The clinic is open to coaches, and registration and check-in will run from 7:30 to 8 a.m.

Speakers

James Smith will open the program with a session of two and a half hours. He will be followed by:

  • Erik Korem, strength coach at Florida State
  • Yancy McKnight, head strength coach at Iowa State
  • Dr. Coral Gubler, a functional movement specialist
  • Jon Hersel of the South Alabama strength and conditioning staff

Social the Night Before

A coaches’ social, including a formal introduction of the speakers and the South Alabama strength staff, will be held Friday, May 20, at 5 p.m. at the Homewood Suites next to campus.

The clinic is hosted by the staff that oversees strength and conditioning for Jaguar athletic programs, including the football program led by head coach Joey Jones, which is preparing for its third season of competition this fall at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
