MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama football coach Joey Jones and his staff will lead the GoDaddy Bowl youth football clinic on Saturday, June 14, at Mobile Christian School.

The clinic is open to children ages 5 to 13.

What Participants Will Learn

Jones’ staff will provide instruction in several areas of the game, with an emphasis on proper technique and football safety. Participants will be able to take part in all of the drills offered, covering both offensive and defensive positions.

Drills will include blocking technique, passing and pass-catching technique and a range of position-specific work. The clinic will also address the importance of character development and sportsmanship.

Registration Details

Participants must register online and bring the waiver included in the registration process to the clinic. Organizers recommend cool, comfortable clothing. Cleats and other equipment are not required. Participants are encouraged to arrive early so the clinic can start on time.

Contact information for organizers and online registration are available through the GoDaddy Bowl website.

Clinic Returns for Another Year

The clinic drew a large turnout when it was held last year with Jones and his staff.

“We are excited to be hosting this event again this year and are looking forward to having coach Jones and his staff back with us,” Kelley Wright, director of ticket sales for the GoDaddy Bowl, told Alabama Media Group. “We had well over 300 kids at this clinic last year and look forward to great participation and attendance again this year.”

The GoDaddy Bowl is a postseason college football game played annually in Mobile at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, which is also the home field for South Alabama football. Jones has been South Alabama’s head coach since the program’s founding and led the Jaguars through their second season as a full Sun Belt Conference member in 2013.
