MOBILE, Ala. — The South Alabama soccer team closes its regular season Friday at 7 p.m. at The Cage, hosting Troy in a Sun Belt Conference match with seeding for the league tournament at stake.
Senior Night and Pink Uniforms
South Alabama will honor its two seniors, Natalie Parsons and Rylle Pannell, before the match.
The Jaguars will also wear pink uniforms in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is observed in October.
Standings Picture
South Alabama enters the finale at 8-8-3 overall and 3-4-2 in Sun Belt play. The Jaguars have 11 conference points, which places them sixth in the league standings.
USA collected four points on its Louisiana road trip last week, beating Louisiana-Monroe 4-0 and playing Louisiana-Lafayette to a 1-1 tie in double overtime.
Troy is 8-9-2 overall and 3-5-1 in the Sun Belt, one point behind South Alabama in seventh place. The Trojans won at both Louisiana-Monroe and Louisiana-Lafayette last week and clinched their fourth consecutive berth in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
The match is an in-state conference meeting between the two Sun Belt programs, with South Alabama based in Mobile and Troy located in Troy, Ala.
With the two teams separated by a single point, a win by either side could move the victor up in the tournament seeding.
