South Alabama volleyball lost to Arkansas State 3-0 on Saturday evening, dropping its second straight match. The Red Wolves won by set scores of 25-19, 25-17 and 25-16.
The Jaguars fell to 7-7 overall and 2-2 in Sun Belt Conference play. Arkansas State improved to 8-5 overall and 3-1 in the conference.
Lewis Reaches Double Figures
Jessica Lewis led South Alabama with 11 kills, her ninth match this season in double figures. Nikki Gittens added eight kills and hit .462, and Abby Baker led the back row with 15 digs.
Sarah Richardson had five kills, hit .308 and recorded two blocks in her first start for South Alabama.
Red Wolves Control the Net
Arkansas State held a 17-4 advantage in total blocks. Sarah Kemp led the Red Wolves with 12 kills, and Kelsey Reis added nine kills while hitting .389.
