Two men were arrested by Flomaton Police on July 29 after officers responding to a domestic disturbance on Old Flomaton Road found drug paraphernalia in plain view and learned one of the men had outstanding warrants.
Officers were initially called to the residence after a report that a male suspect was allegedly threatening a family member and refusing to leave. When police arrived, they made contact with the person who had called for help and observed suspected drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the home.
Investigators learned that Travis Salter was still inside the residence and confirmed he had outstanding warrants for his arrest from the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. Additional Flomaton police officers and sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene, and Travis Salter was ultimately found hiding in a concealed space accessible through a downstairs bathroom. He was taken into custody without incident on the outstanding warrant.
Officers then obtained a search warrant for the residence. According to police, the search turned up marijuana, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and two firearms.
Charges Filed
Larry Salter was arrested and charged with obstructing government operations, unlawful possession of marijuana in the first degree, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and being a certain person forbidden to possess a pistol.
Travis Salter was arrested and charged with bail jumping in the second degree, being a certain person forbidden to possess a pistol, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana in the first degree, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both men were transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton to await further proceedings.
