Crawfish season is a Mobilian tradition, and the start of the boil is eagerly anticipated each year as restaurants and bars across the area host all-you-can-eat spreads. This year, though, the list of participating spots has shrunk to less than half of 2016’s count after a health-department crackdown on how crawfish are prepared and served.
Most restaurants were unaffected, and several businesses are working around the limits by scaling back events or buying pre-cooked crawfish. There are still plenty of places for shellfish fans to get their fix.
Where to find a boil
LoDa
O’Dalys Irish Pub hosts Tuesdays at 6 p.m. (starting in April). The Haberdasher runs Sundays at 5 p.m. Moe’s BBQ features special events and an April Firkin Fest.
West Mobile
The Crooked Martini serves Thursdays at 6 p.m. — $10 all-you-can-eat.
Fairhope
Plow offers Sundays at 4 p.m. and Mondays at 6 p.m., with a $6 two-pound plate or $15 all-you-can-eat. Gumbo Shack runs Thursdays at 6 p.m. for $10 all-you-can-eat.
Daphne
Manci’s Antique Club serves Sundays at 5:30–6 p.m. ($12 all-you-can-eat until gone). Champy’s offers Fridays at 5 p.m. — a $10.99 plate with corn and potato.
Spanish Fort
Beef ‘O’ Brady’s hosts Wednesdays at 6 p.m. starting March 22 ($12.99 all-you-can-eat with corn and potato).
