Artist Showcase & Reception for Kris Garard Set at The Reserve Fairhope
Local artist Kris Garard will showcase her still life and plein air paintings at The Reserve Fairhope on Aug. 13.
On Thursday, Aug. 13, The Reserve Fairhope will host an Artist Showcase and Reception for local artist Kris Garard.
Guests are invited to view her still life paintings, as well as her plein air paintings created around the world. Garard has been painting for more than 30 years and is showcasing her artwork at The Reserve this month.
Plein air painting, from the French phrase for “open air,” is the practice of painting outdoors directly from the landscape or scene in front of the artist rather than from photographs or memory in a studio.
Her paintings will be on display at The Reserve through September. After that, her work will move to Hello Gallery in downtown Fairhope on Section Street.
The reception is free and open to the public. The Reserve Fairhope is located at 604 Reserve Loop, Fairhope, Alabama 36532. More of Garard’s work can be found on Facebook under Kris Garard Fine Art.
