Betty White 100th Birthday Tribute Movie Coming to Gulf Coast Theaters Jan. 17
A Betty White 100th birthday tribute movie hits Gulf Coast theaters Jan. 17, including Mobile-area AMC and Cinemark locations.
Gulf Coast movie fans will get a chance to celebrate Betty White on the big screen later this month, when a tribute film marking what would have been the beloved star’s 100th birthday plays in area theaters on Jan. 17.
The movie was originally conceived as a celebration video for White’s milestone centennial birthday. After her death at age 99 on Dec. 31, just weeks before the milestone, the producers chose to move forward with the theatrical release as a way to memorialize her life and career.
Several local theaters are taking part.
The sold-out evening show at the Bayou 15 location reflects the outpouring of affection for White, whose decades-long career — from sitcoms to game shows to her late-career resurgence — made her one of America’s most cherished entertainers.
About the film
The film, titled “Betty White: A Celebration,” was distributed to theaters nationwide by Fathom Events as a one-day screening on Jan. 17, 2022.
