Hayley’s Bar, 278 Dauphin St., hosts its annual Care Carnival on Sunday, April 7, 2019, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. — a cover-free, family-friendly street party that raises money for Woody’s Song, a program of The Learning Tree benefiting children with autism.
Carnival-style games will be set up for all ages along the Jackson Street block between Dauphin and St. Francis streets, with free game tickets and donations appreciated. Prize drawings run hourly, with tickets starting at $2 each — six for $10 or 20 for $20 — and the bigger-ticket items staged in a silent auction. Many of the prizes come from independent local businesses.
Street food will be available from The Hotdoggery and Tyger’s Famous Cotton Candy, plus popcorn and other treats. Local artists including Quincy’s Sketchbook XD, Deidra Lyn Vanek and Kindred’s Candles will display their latest work.
Live music anchors the afternoon, with sets from Mobile musicians Symone French, Lane Fisher, Wil Reid, Brian Wattier and Mr. 88.
All proceeds support the charity program. Organizers invite attendees to come out for the games and music — and for a good cause.
