Downtown Mobile’s historic Saenger Theatre has stacked its fall calendar with nationally recognized comedians, booking an “Impractical Jokers” favorite, a Netflix headliner, a syndicated radio host, and two more touring acts between September and December 2022.
The Fall Lineup
Joe Gatto, best known as one of the four stars of truTV’s long-running hit “Impractical Jokers,” brings his “Night of Comedy” tour to the Saenger on Friday, Sept. 9. Gatto has played arenas worldwide, including Madison Square Garden and London’s O2 Arena. The show is restricted to ages 16 and up with parental discretion advised; tickets went on sale July 15 at 10 a.m.
Taylor Tomlinson follows on Oct. 15 with her “The Have It All” tour. Tomlinson has two original Netflix comedy specials to her name, a TikTok following of 1.6 million, and a Variety “Top 10 Comics to Watch” nod from 2019, along with appearances on “The Tonight Show,” “Conan,” and Comedy Central. Tickets were already available through Ticketmaster.
On Oct. 29, Rickey Smiley — whose career began in Alabama — headlines with his friends. Smiley hosts the nationally syndicated “Rickey Smiley Morning Show” and is a two-time winner of the National Association of Broadcasters’ Marconi Award for Network/Syndicated Person of the Year. Tickets started at $60.
Leanne Morgan arrives Nov. 4 after more than two decades in stand-up. Her YouTube special “So Yummy” has drawn roughly 50 million views, she has performed at Montreal’s Just For Laughs festival, and she had lined up a deal for her own sitcom.
Nate Bargatze closes out the run Dec. 4 with “The Raincheck Tour.” Bargatze has appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” ten times and “Conan” four times, released two hour-long Netflix specials, toured arenas alongside Chris Rock, and topped Vulture’s 2015 “50 Comedians You Should Know” list.
