South Alabama residents will get a shot at discounted weekend passes to the second annual Hangout Music Festival on Black Friday, festival organizers announced this week. A limited number of passes will go on sale for $50 each, well below the $159 price charged for weekend passes to the inaugural festival.
The 2011 Hangout Music Festival is scheduled for May 20-22 on the beach in Gulf Shores. The event is open to all ages, with children 10 and younger admitted free. Organizers have not yet announced performers for the 2011 lineup, nor have they released regular ticket prices or an on-sale date for standard passes.
Where to Buy Discounted Passes
The $50 Black Friday passes, limited to four per purchase, will be available at four locations across Baldwin and Mobile counties:
The Hangout Restaurant, at the foot of Ala. 59 in Gulf Shores, from 8 a.m. to noon. Private Gallery at the Tanger Outlets in Foley, opening at midnight Thursday and running until noon. Private Gallery at the Eastern Shore Centre in Spanish Fort, from 6 a.m. to noon. And Private Gallery at Legacy Village at Spring Hill in Mobile, on Du Rhu Drive off Dauphin Street west of Interstate 65, from 8 a.m. to noon.
Private Gallery locations will add a $3 service charge per ticket.
“This is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to Gulf Coast residents for their continued support of the Hangout Music Festival,” festival founder Shaul Zislin said in a statement announcing the sale.
The Hangout Music Festival launched in 2010 as a beachfront event in Gulf Shores and has since grown into one of the region’s most prominent tourism draws, bringing music fans and their spending to Baldwin County each spring.
