Once the turkey is gone and the family table clears, downtown Mobile has somewhere to go: Hayley’s Bar opens at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving at its corner of Dauphin Street and South Jackson Street, with drink specials running all night.

“Bring your friends, bring your family, or bring your dog. Let’s celebrate together until the sun comes up!” events and promotions manager Caitlin Madison said.

Karaoke starts at 10 p.m. and runs well into the evening — and yes, patrons can sing the Thanksgiving song as many times as the crowd will tolerate. For anyone whose holiday dinner went sideways over forgotten crescent rolls or in-law politics, the neighborhood bar offers a warm room full of familiar faces and a chance to support an independent local business in the heart of downtown.

Getting there

Dauphin Street is the main corridor of downtown Mobile’s Lower Dauphin, or LoDa, entertainment district, where bars, restaurants and music venues cluster near Bienville Square.
