MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama head football coach Joey Jones will take questions directly from fans on Monday, Aug. 13, when he opens a new online fan forum series organized by C Spire Wireless. Jones’ session is scheduled to begin at noon and run for one hour.
The online fan forum is part of the CIRCLE Blitz College Football Question and Answer series, the first such series C Spire has staged. The company is using the program to connect college football fans with head coaches from programs across the region ahead of the 2012 season.
How the Forum Works
The sessions take place inside CIRCLE, C Spire’s online community. Fans post their questions on the site, and the featured coach responds directly during a one-hour window dedicated to his school.
Each forum focuses on a single coach and program. Any fan may join the community and submit questions through the CIRCLE Blitz website at www.cspire.com/circleblitz.
Fans who post questions will also be entered into a drawing for prizes. According to the organizers, the prizes range from game tickets to autographed school and team merchandise.
Jones Leads Off a Field of Seven Coaches
Jones is the first of seven head football coaches scheduled to take part in the series. The others include Mississippi State’s Dan Mullen, Ole Miss’ Hugh Freeze and Southern Miss’ Ellis Johnson.
Jones has led the South Alabama program since its beginnings. The Jaguars began playing football in 2009 and play their home games at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile. The 2012 season is their first as a football member of the Sun Belt Conference, and the forum gives fans a chance to ask about that season before it opens.
