People gathered at an evening downtown street festival with lightsMobile's weekend lineup includes LoDa Artwalk's White Linen Night, a Back 2 School Bash at Mardi Gras Park and Dog Days of Summer at the Exploreum Science Center.

MOBILE, Ala. — Three events happening this weekend across the Port City offer a range of live music, school supplies and pet activities for residents looking to get out of the house.

LoDa Artwalk returns to downtown Mobile this evening with a White Linen Night theme, running from 6 to 9 p.m. The event features live music, food trucks and interactive experiences, with Flight with Ease stilt walkers strolling through Cathedral Square along Dauphin Street.

The City of Mobile and the Mobile Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with District 2 Councilwoman Samantha Ingram, will host a Back 2 School Bash Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at Mardi Gras Park. The event will include games, music, line dancing, food and drinks, concluding with a backpack and school supply giveaway for up to 1,000 students.

Also Saturday, the Exploreum Science Center will host Dog Days of Summer from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with dog-themed activities and live demonstrations from the City of Mobile’s K-9 Unit. A Canine Bark Bazaar featuring local pet vendors will be on site, along with a pet adoption event held by Wags & Whiskers. The film “Superpower Dogs” will screen in the Exploreum’s PCI Digital Dome Theater.
