MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama volleyball’s Mechell Daniel was named both the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week on Monday.
Daniel is the fifth South Alabama player to earn the conference’s offensive player of the week award, and it is the first time she has received it.
Sixth Straight Week for a Jaguar
The freshman award is Daniel’s fourth of the season. It is also the sixth consecutive week that the Sun Belt Freshman of the Week honor has gone to a South Alabama player.
Perfect Week Clinches Tournament Berth
