MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama assistant football coach Mitch Rodrigue has been hired as offensive line coach at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, ending a two-year stay with the Jaguars.
Rodrigue coached the offensive tackles and tight ends at South Alabama under head coach Joey Jones.
Production on the Field
During Rodrigue’s time on the staff, the Jaguars’ offense averaged 439 yards and just under 46 points per game.
Recognized as a Recruiter
Rodrigue was also known for his work on the recruiting trail. He was named to Rivals.com’s list of the top 10 recruiters among non-BCS programs.
Background
Before arriving in Mobile, Rodrigue spent nine years on the staff at Southern Miss in Hattiesburg, Miss.
Louisiana-Lafayette competes in the Sun Belt Conference. South Alabama competes in the Sun Belt in other sports and began playing football in 2009.
