A Mobile man has been sentenced to prison for illegally possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.
According to the United States Department of Justice, 24-year-old Artez Martre Williams was sentenced to 30 months stemming from an incident in November 2025.
Mobile Police executed a search warrant at Williams’ home, where they found a loaded Glock 9mm pistol and marijuana. Additional 9mm ammunition was found in Williams’ vehicle.
Williams is barred from owning a gun because of previous felony convictions of discharging a gun into an occupied building, first-degree theft of property, and conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
In addition to his prison sentence, Williams is ordered to serve supervised release after his prison time, during which he will be subject to drug testing and treatment. U.S. District Judge Kristi K. DuBose also ordered Williams to pay a $100 fine and forfeit ownership of his pistol.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Mobile Police Department.
