Mobile’s longest-running community theater brings back its holiday favorite this December, as the Joe Jefferson Players stage Scott Morlock’s Scrooge, the Musical for a second straight season.
The production opens at 8 p.m. on Friday, December 10, and runs two weekends — December 10–12 and 17–19 — with Friday and Saturday curtain times at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. Based on Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, the ninety-minute musical delivers the familiar redemption story of Ebenezer Scrooge in a family-friendly package that theater officials pitch as good fun for kids and grandparents alike.
Homegrown Talent Behind the Show
Morlock wears two hats on the production, handling both the musical direction and the score’s local presentation, while LaureAnn Price directs and choreographs. The creative team also includes costumer Beverley Morlock and stage manager Josh LaVigne. The return engagement comes after last season’s run proved popular enough to warrant bringing it back “by popular demand.”
