South Alabama baseball won the opener of its series against New Orleans 12-1 on Friday night but lost the next two games, falling to 8-13 overall and 1-5 in the Sun Belt Conference.

Friday’s 12-1 win was the Jaguars’ first Sun Belt victory of the season. New Orleans won the final two games by a combined score of 22-7.

The losses leave South Alabama last in the Sun Belt standings, a half game behind Troy, which is 12-10 overall and 2-5 in league play.
Earlier Highlight
South Alabama’s season includes a 10-inning win over No. 6 Ole Miss at Stanky Field in late February. That victory was the 1,000th of Kittrell’s career.
Schedule Ahead
Head coach Steve Kittrell’s team has 33 regular-season games remaining. Mississippi State, Auburn and Alabama are all scheduled to play in Mobile.
