MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama’s Cole Billingsley has been named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Billingsley, a redshirt sophomore from Cropwell, Ala., batted .450 with three doubles, five RBIs, seven runs scored and three stolen bases in four games last week. The Jaguars went on to sweep a three-game conference series against Georgia Southern during that stretch.
Multi-Hit Week
Billingsley had at least two hits in every game last week and drove in a run in three of the four contests, including multiple RBIs in each of the final two games against Georgia Southern.
He is the first South Alabama player to be named Sun Belt Player of the Week since Adam Ballew received the honor on March 3.
Season Statistics
Through 47 games this season, Billingsley is batting .344 with a .443 on-base percentage. His season totals include:
