South Alabama Opens Multi-Year Football Season Ticket Renewals Ahead of Georgia Military Game

South Alabama will let three-year season ticket plan holders lock in 2009 prices for 2010 as the Jaguars prepare to host Georgia Military College.

MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama has opened multi-year football season ticket renewals, offering holders on its three-year plan the chance to lock in 2009 prices for the 2010 season, the USA Ticket Office announced, as the unbeaten Jaguars prepare to host Georgia Military College on Saturday.

Multi-Year Season Ticket Renewals

Renewal letters will be mailed starting Monday to all fans who signed up for the three-year season ticket plan. Under the plan, fans can guarantee the same price for their seats next fall by paying 50 percent of their balance by Nov. 2.

Season ticket holders who have not yet joined the plan can still do so by contacting the ticket sales office before Nov. 2.

Georgia Military Next

South Alabama kicks off against Georgia Military College at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at Ladd-Peebles Stadium. Georgia Military is ranked No. 17 in the NJCAA and is 3-2, with wins over Ellsworth Community College, Arkansas Baptist College and North Carolina Tech. Georgia Military had an open date this weekend before the trip to Mobile.

Soccer Falls to Western Kentucky

South Alabama lost its first home Sun Belt soccer match of the season 2-0 to Western Kentucky on Friday at The Cage. The Jaguars fell to 2-8-1 overall and 0-2-1 in the conference. Western Kentucky improved to 7-3-1 and 2-1-0.

Jaguars coach Varga said illness limited the team during the week.

“We had eight players at practice this week, because of the flu and sickness,” he said. “I told the team I didn’t want that to be an excuse or used as a crutch. We just didn’t do the little things we needed to do to be successful today.”

South Alabama hosts Middle Tennessee at 1 p.m. Sunday, then travels next weekend to play North Texas at 7 p.m. Friday and Denver at noon Sunday.

Volleyball Drops Three

The volleyball team lost three matches during the week. Troy won Monday’s match in straight sets, 25-18, 25-23, 25-20. Arkansas State swept the Jaguars 25-19, 25-14, 25-10 on Friday in Jonesboro, and Arkansas-Little Rock won 3-1 on Saturday, 25-16, 25-17, 16-25, 25-16.
