MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama’s home game against Georgia Southern on Saturday, Sept. 20, will kick off at 6:30 p.m. at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, the Sun Belt Conference office announced Monday.
The game will be streamed on ESPN3 and carried on radio by Lite Mix 99.9 FM and the iHeartRadio app.
Eagles’ First Sun Belt Game
The matchup will be Georgia Southern’s first conference game as a member of the Sun Belt. The Eagles joined the league over the summer as part of their move to the Football Bowl Subdivision.
For South Alabama, the game begins a stretch of eight consecutive Sun Belt contests on the 2014 schedule.
Second Game of Home Stand
The Georgia Southern game closes a two-game home stand for the Jaguars. South Alabama opened the season with a 23-13 win at Kent State last Saturday and returns to Ladd-Peebles Stadium this week to host Mississippi State of the Southeastern Conference.
The Jaguars are in their sixth season under head coach Joey Jones, who started the program, and are in their third season as a full Sun Belt football member. Jones entered the 2014 season with a 31-21 record at South Alabama, and the Jaguars closed the 2013 season with three consecutive double-digit victories, including a 30-8 win over Sun Belt co-champion Louisiana-Lafayette.
