MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama’s Ken Williams and Breanna Hall earned All-Sun Belt Conference basketball honors on Tuesday, giving each player the first postseason all-conference recognition of their careers.
Williams was named to the All-Sun Belt men’s second team, and Hall was selected to the women’s third team.
Ken Williams: Second Team
Williams, a sophomore, ranks seventh in the Sun Belt in scoring at 15.9 points per game. He is second in the league in 3-pointers made per game at 2.6, eighth in 3-point percentage at .371 and eighth in free-throw percentage at .794.
In Sun Belt play, Williams averaged 18 points and 2.8 3-pointers per game, ranking second and first in the conference in those categories.
His 82 3-pointers this season are the seventh-most in a single season in South Alabama history and a school record for a sophomore. He is four points shy of becoming the 21st player in program history to score 500 points in a season.
Williams has scored 20 or more points 10 times this season, including four consecutive games with at least 23 points, and he has made multiple 3-pointers in 24 of his 31 games.
Breanna Hall: Third Team
Hall, who was a preseason all-conference selection, finished the regular season fifth in the Sun Belt in scoring at 15.4 points per game. Her 416 points make her the first South Alabama women’s player to surpass 400 points in a season since 2008-09.
Hall led the conference in 3-point shooting at 40.8 percent, a mark that placed her among the national leaders. Her 2.4 3-pointers per game ranked second in the league, and she was third in the Sun Belt in free-throw shooting at 82 percent.
