MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama head coach Joey Jones is expected to announce the hiring of Tyler Siskey, the University of Alabama’s director of player personnel, as the Jaguars’ wide receivers coach, according to reports.
The move would bring Siskey back to on-field coaching after two stints in recruiting roles at Southeastern Conference programs.
Siskey’s Background
- Arkansas State (2008-11): Siskey coached wide receivers for four seasons at Arkansas State, a South Alabama rival in the Sun Belt Conference.
- Ole Miss: He then served as coordinator of recruiting development at Ole Miss, where he helped the Rebels assemble a 2013 recruiting class ranked in the national top 10.
- Alabama (2013-present): Siskey joined the Alabama staff in March 2013 as director of player personnel.
Jaguars’ Staff
Jones has led South Alabama since the program began play in 2009. The Jaguars, members of the Sun Belt Conference, play their home games at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile and made their first bowl appearance in the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl in December.
