ARLINGTON, Texas — South Alabama senior libero Jenna Hassell became the volleyball program’s all-time leader in career digs Sunday, passing Keturah Carter, though the Jaguars fell 3-1 to UT Arlington.
The Mavericks won by set scores of 21-25, 25-19, 25-18, 25-21 after South Alabama took the opening set.
A Walk-On Turned Record Holder
Hassell, who joined the Jaguars as a walk-on, moved into first place on the school’s career list with the 1,510th dig of her career. She finished the match with 19 digs, the 73rd match of her career in which she reached double figures in digs.

Standings and Schedule
UT Arlington improved to 22-7 overall and 12-5 in Sun Belt Conference play.
South Alabama dropped to 10-16 overall and 5-11 in the Sun Belt. The loss was the Jaguars’ fifth straight and their eighth in the last nine matches.
South Alabama returns home next to face Appalachian State.
