MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. — A 73-year-old Chunchula man died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash on Lott Road, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
State troopers said William W. Miller was riding his motorcycle along Lott Road near the Wilmer Georgetown Road intersection on Dec. 15 when the collision occurred. As Miller attempted a left turn, his bike was struck by a pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction.
Miller suffered critical injuries and was taken to Providence Hospital in Mobile, where he later died.
Troopers were first dispatched to the scene around 5:40 p.m. The crash shut Lott Road at Wilmer Georgetown Road for nearly four hours while investigators documented the scene, and drivers were urged to find alternate routes through rural northwest Mobile County before the road reopened late that evening.
ALEA highway patrol troopers continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
