Clarke County Man Sentenced to More Than 12 Years for Dealing Drugs From His Home
Marco Antonio Gaston of Jackson was sentenced to 151 months in prison for selling drugs from his Clarke County home.
A Jackson man will spend more than a decade in federal prison for selling drugs out of his Clarke County residence, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
Marco Antonio Gaston was sentenced Monday to 151 months behind bars. He was arrested in February 2019 alongside his girlfriend and co-defendant Morgan Nicole Anderson after Jackson police executed a search warrant at the home.
Court documents laid out the scope of the operation: investigators counted more than 50 drug transactions at the residence, and video evidence captured sales being made from the front porch of the house.
What a Federal Sentence Means
A 151-month sentence works out to 12 years and seven months. There is no parole in the federal system, which Congress abolished for federal crimes committed after 1987; federal inmates can earn a limited amount of credit for good conduct but generally serve at least 85 percent of their sentence.
Clarke County is part of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Alabama, where federal drug cases from the county are prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for that district.
