MONTROSE, Ala. — Roughly 300 electric customers in the Montrose area lost power Monday morning after a utility pole was damaged, according to Riviera Utilities.
Employees with the utility said the outage is concentrated around the Highway 98 corridor near the Publix shopping area, one of the busier stretches of the community during the morning commute.
Crews Working On Repairs
Riviera Utilities said crews were dispatched to the site and were working to replace the damaged pole and restore service to affected homes and businesses.
The utility did not have an estimated restoration time when it confirmed the outage, and said it was not yet clear how the pole was damaged.
Riviera Utilities serves much of the western side of Baldwin County, including Montrose, Fairhope, Daphne and surrounding areas, and asks customers to report outages so crews can pinpoint affected circuits.
